Dear Dr. Wallace, I often have a dream where I am out for a walk and I realise that I am walking through the grounds of a royal palace. At first I am a bit nervous that someone will spot me intruding and throw me out but no-one seems to notice and I begin to relax and enjoy the surroundings. As I walk along, I see a palace in the distance and there is a woman waving to me from the steps. I am surprised when I realise it’s the queen and to crown it all, she invites me in for a lovely afternoon tea! Does this dream mean anything or is it just wishful thinking?

When we dream about royalty we are thinking about the aspects of our own personality that we respect and admire. In your waking life you probably rely on the respect and admiration of others to boost your own self esteem and confidence. Although you may be held in high esteem by others, you are often not aware of this and you may feel unappreciated by them sometimes.
